Andrew Treglia, Director & Senior Editor
Writer / Director Andrew Treglia was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After working his way through college at Virginia Tech, he earned his Bachelors Degree in Finance. Unable to identify with a corporate culture, Andrew traveled by car across America, eventually settling in Guatemala. Observing the working class in Central America allowed Andrew to recognize the universality of the struggles experienced by the culture he left in Pittsburgh. Understanding his hometown better for having left it, he returned and wrote the screenplay American Throwaways . Andrew eventually started his own parking management company. The success of the company could not to fulfill his desire for artistic expression and he applied and was accepted into the Masters program at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. He soon sold his parking business and committed himself to his craft, earning his MFA in Filmmaking in 2006. Andrew quickly began directing after graduation and has completed over thirty projects for Public Television. He has also written and directed several short pictures, most recently Russell baby . Andrew grounds his work in realism. Visceral characters and unique settings center around themes of uncompromising individuality, individual liberty, cultural and racial esteem, and the common denominator of universal human interconnection. American Throwaways will be Andrew's first feature film.
